It is not
often a free web host provider offers free web hosting and a 2 tier
affiliate program. As a matter of fact, this is the only one I know of.
How it
works: For one, they do offer free web hosting, but JimDo.com does not
pay you for a signup referral for a free website. Your visitor at some
point must upgrade their hosting account to a paid website to get their
own domain name, more space and remove advertising. The hosting cost is
only $5 for paid accounts, so upgrading is not that big of a step once
they fall in love with the cool JimDo web page building interface.
The second tier kicks in when one of your
referrals sees what a cool place JimDo is and joins the affiliate program
to start offering free websites on their own. Since they signed up under
you, you now get a portion of any earnings they get for referrals. The
great thing about 2 tier programs, is that your earnings cap is
theoretically limitless. It depends on how many people have signed up from
your referral and how much they earn. At some point, you may have other
people doing the work for you!
